Do you think Erik’s ugliness is an excuse for
his behavior? Is his behavior his fault or
society’s fault? One student should prepare
arguments agreeing that Erik is responsible
for his own behavior. The other student
should prepare arguments showing that Erik’s
behavior is the result of the way he has been
treated. Have the discussion.

15 Imagine you are the Persian and you have
known Erik for a long time. Write about who
Erik is and what has happened in his life. Also
write why you think he has become so evil.
